Welcome to our website! Now in its 27th year, MOSAIC is celebrating its coming of age by entering the digital world. We are very pleased to be posting readable (and downloadable) current and past issues of this very important cultural magazine which features all the best of Grey and Bruce Counties. Although, of course, we are still committed to words on paper (MOSAIC is published monthly from March to November and is available for pickup from 100+ locations throughout this area), we are pleased to now provide a fresh way for the world to connect with us.
Founded in 1991 by the remarkable Vi Bland, MOSAIC's first publisher was Vi's company ABM Publications (All By Myself Publications). Initially it was a tabloid newspaper. In 2005 Vi changed to the now-familiar magazine format with striking full-colour covers. Over the years, the print run and number of outlets for MOSAIC have steadily increased to satisfy the demand from readers. In September 2010, The Ginger Press purchased MOSAIC, making a commitment to both Vi and the community to continue to provide this essential focus on Arts, Entertainment and Lifestyle in Grey and Bruce. We now include local stories on everything from agriculture to zeitgeist, and lots in between because, really, it's all Arts, Entertainment and Lifestyle, isn't it?
We appreciate our readers: it is from you that we get the stories, poems, pictures, recipes, columns, event notifications, calls for entry and so much more contained within our pages. Thank you. We also appreciate the support from our advertisers which keeps this publication going. Over the past two decades many local organizations, institutions and businesses have chosen MOSAIC as part of their marketing plan. Thank you. As Vi says, "MOSAIC is a composition created by inlaying various sizes of like pieces so as to form one picture." And it takes all of you to build our publication.
We will post each issue of MOSAIC as it is published. Please circulate this link widely. And, when you're in the area, be sure to drop by one of our excellent venues and attend some of the many great local events described in our pages. Tell them you read about it in MOSAIC. You're never a stranger in Grey-Bruce.
